Our Academy

We offer Year 7-12 students a unique approach to re-engagement in their education journey, focusing on student wellbeing and education support.

Communicare Academy is an independent, non-government CARE (Curriculum and Re-engagement in Education) school operated by Communicare Inc. We are committed to providing at-risk and disengaged young people with high quality education options in a flexible and supportive learning environment.

We provide a holistic education experience that meets the diverse needs of our students including small classes, education support staff, social-emotional development programs, personalised and flexible timetable options, excursions and camps, wrap-around student support services from a variety of in-school specialists and additional Communicare Inc. support services.

Communicare Academy is a nurturing environment, offering an alternative experience to larger, mainstream schools. The Academy focuses on developing student resilience through a variety of wellbeing programs and experiences, equipping them with the interpersonal skills and resilience necessary for life after school.

Our purpose-built facility is located on Royal Street in the south east metropolitan suburb of Kenwick, Western Australia. We are a registered school through the Department of Education and we hold membership with the Association of Independent Schools of Western Australia (AISWA). Our maximum capacity is 92 students.

Our History

Communicare Academy first opened its doors in 2014 in an office building in Cannington, WA, and it was here that our staff and students started developing the supportive community we still hold today. In Term Two 2015, we moved to our brand new school building in Kenwick and the school was officially opened by the Minister for Education in November 2015.

In Term Two 2017, we were notified of our successful accreditation for another four and a half years’ registration as an independent non-government school by the Department of Education; which we feel is a testament to the dedication and perseverance of our students and teaching and non-teaching staff.
