As part of the Communicare Academy’s commitment to becoming a White Ribbon School we attended this year’s Silent March in the City of Armadale on Friday the 24th November.

19 students and 5 staff members attended the march where two of our students were asked to publically speak. They presented their thoughts as students on what they will do
to prevent Family and Domestic Violence.

Various representatives of the Police, Government, other schools, and charities were in attendance and all congratulated the Communicare Academy on our students’
behaviour and presentation.

Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) affects one-in-four Australian students and 1 woman per week dies at the hands of a male partner or ex-partner, and children exposed
to FDV experience learning, behavioural, and mental health difficulties. So it is important for our students, as the next generation, to make that change and take a stand.

All of the students should be proud of their participation and it was fantastic to see them engage in their community.
